To replace the battery in a BMW 2 Series, open the hood to access the components in the engine compartment. Just below the windshield, you will find a plastic grille that needs to be completely removed.

On the driver's side, locate the battery that must be taken out of its housing to be replaced with a new part. Once the new battery is installed, reposition the grille and check that everything is functioning correctly.
