How to Change the Engine Oil in a BMW X3?

Model: BMW X3 E83, MK 1 - Years 2003-2010

First, lift the vehicle using a lift. Open the hood and remove the plastic cover from the engine head. Position a drain pan underneath. Locate the bolt securing the oil filter, remove it, and take out the filter, placing it in the drain pan. Raise the vehicle with the lift. Find the engine drain hole to let the oil flow out. Place a drain pan underneath, unscrew the bolt, and allow the oil to drain. Close the drain hole. Lower the vehicle using the lift. Replace the oil filter gasket, insert the new filter in place, and tighten the filter housing to secure it. Open the engine oil filler cap. Pour in oil until the reservoir is full to the maximum level. Check with the dipstick. Reinstall the engine cover and close the hood.
