Replacing the key battery of a Citroen Xsara? Here’s how to disassemble the battery inside the Xsara key. Take your ignition key and unscrew the securing screw of the key. Disconnect the part of the key connected to the other half. Remove the battery with a screwdriver (disassemble the circuit board if you need to change the key). Take a new battery and insert it into the key (of the same size and voltage). Reassemble all the plastic parts of the key and screw in the small screw. Check the functioning of the remote key. Replace the key cover if damaged with a new one.
