Using the Start & Stop System on the Dacia Sandero

On the Dacia Sandero, as with many other vehicles, the purpose of the start & stop system is to reduce fuel consumption and emissions by automatically turning off the engine when the car is stationary. The system activates automatically when certain conditions are met, such as: engine at operating temperature; battery sufficiently charged; air conditioning not on maximum; windscreen defrosted; vehicle travelling at a speed above 5/10 km/h after the last shutdown. If you wish to completely deactivate the system, you can do so by pressing the dedicated button: an orange light will then illuminate on the dashboard, indicating that the start & stop was activated. However, the deactivation is only valid for the current journey.
