How to Perform a Service on the Evo 4

Performing a service is a crucial task to carry out before a long journey or when the mileage is due. The service includes changing the engine oil and oil filter, checking and replacing fluids, inspecting the engine, replacing spark plugs, and checking the timing belt. To change the engine oil on an EVO 4, lift the vehicle and remove the oil sump bolt to drain the used oil into a container. While waiting for the last drop to fall, replace the oil filter by unscrewing the bolt under the cover. Replace the filter and reassemble the box while closing the oil sump bolt. Lower the vehicle and check all fluids in the various reservoirs, such as the water reservoir and the washer fluid reservoir. Ensure that the water level does not exceed the maximum and is within the exact line between minimum and maximum. Remove the engine cover and using a spark plug socket, perform the replacement. It is crucial not to mix up the spark plugs during connection and to lubricate them beforehand with suitable spray. After replacing the spark plugs, check the engine and the timing belt.
