How to solve the problem of the stuck platinum points on the vintage Fiat 500.

The sticking of the platinum points occurs when the two tabs remain attached. In this case, the circuit is interrupted and the machine does not start. However, this is an emergency repair: as soon as possible, we should replace them. Let's open the rear hood and locate the ignition distributor, unhook the two metal clips that secure the cap, and remove the central carbon brush to expose the points: put it in fourth gear, release the handbrake, and slowly push the car until the cam of the ignition distributor brings the rocker arm (the point's hammer) to its highest point. In this position, the two platinum contacts should be just separated; if they are stuck, that is our problem (but also if they are too far apart), so using the tip of a flat screwdriver, gently pry to adjust their distance. The goal is to separate them, or bring them closer if they were too far apart. But be careful because they are very delicate. After that, we return to the driver's seat and start the quad, go back to the engine, and check if touching the metal tip between the two points contacts generates a spark (let's keep hold of the insulated handle of the screwdriver!). If the spark is weak, the contacts may be oxidized, so let's use very fine sandpaper on the contact surfaces, reassemble the carbon brush, the plastic cap, and try to start it. It should start again.

How to Check the Oil Level on a Jeep Renegade?

To check the oil level on a Jeep Renegade, you need to open the bonnet to access the components inside the engine bay: on the lower left side of the engine block, you will find the dipstick for checking the level. This should be pulled out and thoroughly cleaned with a cloth: once cleaned, reinsert it back into its tube and pull it out immediately after. This way, you can check that the oil mark is between the minimum and maximum levels; finally, you can place the dipstick back in its tube.
