How to Start a Classic Fiat 500 That Has Been Idle for Years

In this video, see how to start a classic Fiat 500 that has been idle for years. Two approaches were taken: The first involved the fuel system, cleaning the carburettor and ensuring it wasn't drawing air from the manifolds, replacing the gaskets, and checking the fuel pump operation. The second approach was electrical, checking for a spark at the spark plugs with a test lamp; as there was no spark, the ignition coil was tested and found to be faulty. After replacing it, move on to the distributor, where the condenser and contact points were replaced; once done, the spark plugs were replaced. After replacing the battery, all that was left was to get fuel to the carburettor and start the engine.
