What are the essential things to know about the maintenance of the Fiat Tipo MultiJet 1.3? There are two important lights: the service light, which comes on every 20,000 miles or one year. After the service, you can reset it manually, but if you don't, it resets itself after about a week. The oil life light comes on when there is diesel in the engine oil, and it also comes on at 30,000 miles. It does not measure the quantity of oil but its contamination. Maintenance should be performed every 30,000 miles or one year, whichever comes first. Filters have different intervals: the fuel filter every 60,000 miles; the air filter every 40,000 miles; the cabin filter every 15,000 to 20,000 miles. Do not change all filters every 20,000 miles, as it is a waste; do not wait more than a year to change the oil: do not neglect your car; remember that your enemy is diesel ending up in the oil, which happens to those who drive only in the city.
