Resetting the indirect tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) warning light on the Fiat 500

The Fiat 500 uses an indirect tyre pressure monitoring system. This system does not measure the actual pressure with sensors inside the wheels but detects the difference in rotation speed between the wheels. If a tyre loses pressure, its diameter decreases, causing it to rotate faster than the others. The warning light activates when the system detects this difference. To reset the light, inflate all tyres to the correct pressure, referring to the pressures indicated on the door sill. Then turn on the ignition, press and hold the "SET" button (tyre icon, located on the left side of the dashboard) for 3-5 seconds until you hear a beep (or see a confirmation message). Turn off the ignition and start the engine. Drive for a few minutes to complete the learning process.
