How to Replace the Fuel Filter on a Ford Transit MK6 2.4 TDCi?

The fuel filter on a Ford Transit MK6 2.4 TDCi is located in the engine bay, easily recognisable as a white cylinder. To remove it, unscrew the top cap clockwise. If it is stuck, use a large pair of pliers to loosen it, then continue by hand. Once the cap is removed, pull down the old filter, being careful of the alignment notches on its base. Before installing the new filter, which you can purchase from auto-doc.it with EAN code 4059191587018 for £11.49 plus £9.95 delivery, fill it with clean diesel to facilitate bleeding. Align the filter notches with those of the housing and push it all the way in. Refit the cap, tightening only by hand, without tools. To bleed the system, disconnect the fuel line on the right side (pressing the tab with a screwdriver). Connect a mechanical pump between the line and the filter, pumping until the diesel flows out without bubbles. Quickly reconnect the line and check for leaks.
