Replacing Engine Oil Filter on Fiat 500

Model: Fiat 500 312 - Years 2007-2021

For this model, it is recommended to use synthetic oil 5W-30. Lift the front of the car with a jack. Open the bonnet and place the support rod in position. Unscrew the engine oil drain bolt located at the bottom of the compartment and collect the used lubricant in a container. Refit the drain bolt and return to the top of the engine bay, where you can unscrew the screws securing the engine oil filter cover. Unscrew the filter itself using a 27mm socket. Remove the O-ring and place it on the new filter. Screw it into position and add new oil through the filler cap with the yellow top.
