How to Time the Timing Chain on a Fiat 1.3 Multijet Engine

When replacing the timing chain on an engine, it is essential to ensure the engine is timed correctly, meaning the synchronization between the crankshaft and camshaft. To do this, locate the hole on the flywheel housing attached to the crankshaft and insert a 5 mm pin to lock it. Then, find the locking pin hole on the side of the cylinder head. Again, to secure the relative position of the camshaft, screw this pin into the hole. This way, you will ensure the timing is maintained, allowing you to change the timing chain safely.
