How to Replace the Timing Belt on a Fiat 500

The timing belt replacement is quite complex, so the guidance offered is only broad. After opening the bonnet, start by removing the coolant reservoir and unscrewing the bolts securing the upper timing belt cover. Then, undo the support bolts for the right engine mount. Next, remove the right front wheel and lift the vehicle. Proceed to remove the lower timing belt cover and take off the auxiliary belt. Then, remove the crankshaft pulley and mark with a marker or insert the appropriate pin on both the crankshaft gear and the camshaft gear to ensure the engine timing. Finally, loosen the timing chain tensioner and remove it.
