Fuel Tank Removal Instructions

To remove the fuel tank, position the vehicle on suitable car stands to facilitate access to the underbody; then disconnect the hose connecting the filler cap to the tank, the fuel outlet and return lines attached to the pump, and also the pump's power cables; unscrew the tank's fastening bolts and remove it from its location. As this is a metal tank, corrosion, likely exacerbated by salt used on snowy roads, has practically perforated it: newer vehicles have fuel tanks made of plastic.
