How to Clean the Carburettor on a Fiat 126

If you experience issues starting the engine or if the acceleration is slow and erratic, the carburettor may be dirty and unable to ensure the correct preparation and delivery of the mixture. Cleaning the carburettor requires careful attention, especially during reassembly and adjustment (remember the number of turns on the adjustment screws). Once you have removed the carburettor from its housing, start with an initial external wash (it is recommended to use petrol and protect your hands with nitrile gloves) to eliminate any dirt that could enter the carburettor body during disassembly. Continue by disassembling the various components, each of which should be cleaned before reassembly: it is crucial to unscrew the jets and blow through their respective seats as well as the passageways of the jets (this step is not shown in the video) before reassembling everything.
