How to Check the Engine Oil Level on a Fiat Panda

Checking the engine oil level is a very simple procedure that helps monitor any abnormal oil consumption that could be caused by wear on the piston rings, valve guide seals, or it could simply be a leak from the rocker cover gasket or the oil sump. To properly check the engine oil level, turn off the engine and leave it off for a few minutes to allow the circulating oil to drain completely into the sump. Then, remove the dipstick and clean it, insert it fully, and pull it out again: the oil should mark the dipstick up to the upper mark indicating the maximum level. There is one litre of oil between the minimum and maximum marks; if the oil reaches halfway, a top-up of half a litre is required.
