Checking the engine oil level is a very simple procedure but it helps to monitor any abnormal consumption of engine oil that could be caused by the wear of the piston rings, or of the valve guide rubbers or there could still be a trivial loss of the gasket tappet or oil pan cover; to check the engine oil level correctly, it is advisable to switch off the engine and leave it off for a few minutes so that the circulating oil drops completely into the sump; then extract the stick and clean it, insert it as far as it will go and pull it out again: the oil must smear the control stick up to the upper notch which indicates the maximum level; between the minimum and maximum mark there is a liter of oil, so if the oil reaches halfway, you must top up by half a liter.

How do you replace the battery of the BMW R 1250 GS?

In order to replace the battery of the BMW R 1250 GS it is necessary to loosen the bolts that secure the casing positioned on the left side of the bike, so that its cover can be removed. Once this has been removed, you will be able to access the components below, including the battery. The latter must be removed from its housing by disconnecting the power cables and unscrewing the appropriate fixing bolts. In this way it will be possible to insert a new battery, properly fixing it and connecting it to the relative cables, covering everything with the casing.
