How to Change the Timing Belt on a Fiat Stilo

Replacing the timing belt is a maintenance task that must not be overlooked as its failure could cause irreparable damage to the engine; therefore, the belt should be replaced every 75,000 miles or five years. To perform the replacement, lift the vehicle from the passenger side and remove both the wheel and the inner lining to access the crankshaft pulley. In the engine bay, remove the coolant reservoir and the plastic cover of the timing belt; then remove the auxiliary belt, align the timing marks, and loosen the tensioner to remove the timing belt. Also, replace the water pump and proceed in reverse for the installation of the new belt, replacing the pulley and tensioner while paying attention to the proper adjustment.
