Let's see where the battery of a Transit Custom is located, because its placement is not the classic one, inside the engine compartment, so anyone in need of quickly working on the battery could find themselves in difficulty, not knowing where to look for it. On this vehicle, the battery is located under the right seat, which in left-hand drive vehicles is the passenger seat. We need to lift it as high as possible with the lever on the right side of the seat, and then lower the backrest forward; we slide the seat, and find a metal bar fixed by bolts that, once removed, allows us to remove the plastic cover protecting the battery, or rather the two batteries, if the van is equipped with start & stop technology.

How to Open the Bonnet on the Lancia Y
