How to replace the engine oil and filter on a Ford Focus? Follow this guide to proceed with the replacement: open the car door and pull up the engine compartment release lever located at the bottom left of the dashboard, then lift the front bonnet and secure it. Using a socket spanner, unscrew the large tightening plug of the container where the oil filter is located; remove the worn oil filter and fit a new one. Lift the car on a jack and unscrew the plug of the oil sump; allow the fluid to drain into a container. Finally, top up with the new engine oil and close the front bonnet.
