How to Reset the Engine Malfunction Light on the Ford Focus 2013

The procedure shown in the video does not technically erase the engine light, but only clears the warning message, so if the problem is not resolved, the warning will return. The procedure is as follows: press the brake pedal and the accelerator pedal simultaneously, both fully. Turn the key twice, bringing it to the "ON" position twice in succession without starting the engine. During this operation, keep the pedals pressed, and continue holding them until the message "service set" or "oil complete" appears on the display: Press "ok" on the steering wheel to confirm and the message will disappear. If the message "Engine malfunction service now" is accompanied by the yellow engine light (check engine light) being on, it means there is a stored error code. In that case, the procedure does not resolve the issue: a diagnostic scanner is needed to read the code and repair the fault. The 2013 Focus (Mk3) is known for false alarms related to oil pressure sensors or electronic actuator issues. If the message returns after the reset, have the vehicle checked by a mechanic.
