Overheating in a Ford Fiesta MK6 can have several causes: the first check is the cooling circuit. With the engine running, check that the coolant circulates properly in the expansion tank.

If it doesn't move, there may be a blockage or a thermostat stuck in the closed position. In this case, the thermostat needs to be replaced.

Other common causes include leaks from the expansion tank or hoses, a non-functioning cooling fan (check the relay and fuses), or low fluid levels. Also, ensure that the water pump is functioning correctly.

If the thermostat is stuck, replacing it will resolve the issue. Start by draining the circuit, then remove the old thermostat and install the new one. Refill with fresh fluid and check circulation.
