How to replace the battery of a key fob for a Ford Focus? Follow these steps. Take your key fob and use a screwdriver to pry between the key cover and the plastic cap on top of the cover (after removing the key). Pry until the cap separates from the cover, then extract the worn battery with a screwdriver. Get a new battery of the same size and voltage. Refit the battery into the key fob cover and the cap until you hear it click into place. Check the correct operation of the key fob by testing the door lock and unlock buttons.
