Instructions for Replacing the Fuel Filter

Model: Ford Focus MK 1 - Years 1998-2004
Part: Fuel filter

The fuel filter is located under the vehicle's floor, near the right rear wheel: lift the vehicle on suitable axle stands and locate the filter (it is secured to the chassis with a clip).
Before replacing it, disconnect one terminal of the battery rather than the fuse related to the fuel pump. Then disconnect the inlet and outlet pipes from the filter by releasing the respective clips (place a container underneath to catch any fuel spills); loosen the securing clip and remove the old filter. Insert the new filter, ensuring the flow direction of the fuel is correct, and reconnect the pipes by securing the clips.
