Checking the Vacuum Pump Operation

To check the correct operation of the brake servo and its associated vacuum pump, you can first perform a simple suction test by disconnecting the hose from the brake servo diaphragm, starting the engine, and checking with your finger that there is a vacuum at the hose, indicating suction. For a more accurate measurement, connect a manometer to the hose and check the vacuum value at the hose inlet: if you measure a vacuum of at least 0.5 bar, the system is functioning correctly. You can repeat the same test directly on the pump.
