Engine Oil and Filter Replacement

Model: Ford Focus MK 1 - Years 1998-2004

Before removing the oil filter, unscrew the drain plug located under the oil sump to drain the used oil; while draining, locate the oil filter directly in front of the oil sump: unscrew it using a metal strap or chain wrench, like the one used in the video; once the old filter is removed, coat the gasket of the new filter with clean oil to improve its sealing and screw it into place without exceeding the torque (a manual tightening is sufficient); refit the sump plug and fill the engine with clean oil until the level is reached.
