Replacing Front Hub Bearing

Model: Ford Mondeo / Fusion MK 1 - Years 1993-2000

Before lifting the vehicle, loosen the central nut that secures the driveshaft to the hub and the wheel fixing bolts; then lift the car and place it on suitable axle stands, complete the wheel removal and proceed to disconnect the track rod end from the hub, remove the brake caliper, the ABS speed sensor, and finish removing the driveshaft fixing nut. Remove the brake caliper bracket, the suspension arm ball joint, and the shock absorber fixing bolts from the hub. At this point, you can remove the complete wheel hub with the disc: unscrew the disc retaining nuts to remove it from the hub and continue by extracting the disc support from the hub (a part of the damaged bearing will come off). Then remove the circlips and extract the remaining part of the bearing from the hub support, insert the new bearing, secure it with the respective circlips, and reinsert the hub using a press or a system made of threaded rod and bushes.
