Ford Focus - Video tutorial

Model: Ford Focus MK 2, Focus 2 - Years 2004-2011
Part: Brake discs
Operation: How to replace the brake disc on a Ford Focus 2.

In this video tutorial, we can see how it is possible to replace the brake disc in a Ford Focus 2, following some simple steps: the first thing to do is to purchase the brake discs from an authorized dealer; the next step is to lift the hood of the engine and secure it with a proper rod; unscrew the cap of the brake fluid reservoir. Unscrew the wheel bolts using a socket wrench N.19 (to avoid accidents, lift the wheel when unscrewing the bolts). Lift the front part of the vehicle using a jack and place safety stands. Remove the wheel and use a pry bar to separate the brake pads; clean the fastening elements with a metal brush and then use WD-40 spray to treat the fastening elements. Unscrew the brake caliper bracket attachment with a socket wrench N.14. Remove the brake caliper along with its bracket. Use a wire to tie the caliper to the suspension without disconnecting it from the flexible hose. Remove the brake disc and install the new brake disc. Use a brake cleaner to remove the anti-corrosive grease from the new disc (let it sit for a minute) and then install the brake caliper along with the bracket.

Handbrake adjustment on Ford Ecosport

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base.
