Replacing the Clutch Hydraulic Pump

Model: Honda Civic MK 6 - Years 1995-2001

Open the front bonnet and ensure it is securely supported; at the rear right of the engine bay (when viewed from the front), you can locate the clutch pump: it is the one furthest to the right. Start by removing the coupling of the pump actuator with the clutch pedal by removing the retaining clip and the pin. Then, remove the oil reservoir support bracket and the pipes connected to the pump; returning to the cabin, unscrew the pump's fixing nuts located just near the clutch pedal, then extract the old pump from the engine bay. Adjust the actuator's stroke on the new pump, apply the oil reservoir after cleaning it, and proceed with the installation of the new pump on the vehicle, securing it to the body and then to the clutch pedal. At this point, also replace the hydraulic actuator of the clutch located near the gearbox. Fill the reservoir with the specific oil and loosen the bleed screw on the actuator: pump the clutch pedal to allow air to escape from the system.
