Resetting the Airbag Warning Light

Model: Honda Civic MK 6 - Years 1995-2001

If the airbag warning light inadvertently comes on or because an airbag has deployed, resetting it requires a complex operation. First, obtain two simple pieces of rigid electrical wire and strip about one centimetre of insulation from both ends. Position yourself under the dashboard and locate the yellow connector. Remove the connector from the socket and insert the two previously prepared wires into the electrical contact holes of the connector. Turn the ignition key to activate the instrument panel. Short-circuit the free ends of the two wires for a few seconds, then turn off the ignition by returning the key to the off position. Reconnect the connector in its place. The light should now remain off.
