Removing and Repairing the Valve Cover

The tutorial provided in this video must be followed precisely: it is easier to understand in practice than in writing. You will remove and replace the cylinder head gasket, a fairly lengthy job but, like anything, doable by almost anyone with patience and determination (this occurs when the car overheats and the issue is not with the thermostat and coolant is present). First, remove all the plastic covers from the engine and lift the dipstick and cap; then, disconnect all the hoses by loosening the clips with a suitable pliers, taking care to label them and note where they were connected to assist with reassembly. Remove the spark plug connectors and the bolts around the plastic and their respective plastic supports; you should now be able to remove the cylinder head cover. Clean the edges and any corners that are oozing oil; cover with one or more cloths while you check and prepare the new gasket and cover (if new), ensuring all components are clean. Apply the appropriate adhesive (or whatever your mechanic recommends) and reassemble the cover and everything else in reverse order. If you have done everything correctly, after this work, your car will stop overheating, but remember, if you are a distracted driver, to frequently check the levels of water and coolant! It goes without saying, however, that distraction is not necessarily the cause of this problem: like everything, it will break down sooner or later.
