How to Change the Oil and Oil Filter of the Honda CR-V

To change the engine oil and oil filter (the video uses 5W-20 Mobil1 oil, 5 litres), start by opening the bonnet and keeping it raised. Lift the car with a trolley jack and secure it with axle stands. Under the car, near the oil sump, find the "engine oil" marking, and unscrew the bolt with a 17mm socket while holding a container underneath. Near the oil drain plug, locate the oil filter and unscrew it using a special tool for oil filters, again keeping a container underneath. Now, we can fit the new oil filter and screw the oil sump plug back on with a torque of 20 foot-pounds. Next, go to the top of the engine, where you will unscrew the oil filler cap, insert a funnel, and pour in 4 litres of oil (refer to the markings on the oil container). At this point, take the oil dipstick, clean it, reinsert it, and pull it out again to check the oil level. If the oil level is slightly below "max", top it up with oil; if it is at the "max" mark, the operation is complete. Now, go inside the vehicle, start the engine, and check that the oil light goes out. You can now reset the service by pressing the button located at the bottom right for about 10 seconds. You will see the "oil life" message and the "cancel" message flashing on the display. Rotate the button to make the "oil life" message flash, hold the button until the display flashes, and keep it pressed until the message "oil life 100%" appears. Finally, lower the car and close the bonnet.
