Replacing the Exhaust Manifold Gasket

The exhaust manifold gasket is made of metallic material as it must withstand the high temperatures of exhaust gases. Before applying the new gasket, clean its seating thoroughly, both on the cylinder head side and the manifold side, to remove any dirt and deposits that could compromise the gasket's adherence and seal. Once cleaned, align the new gasket with the exhaust ports by inserting it onto the dowel pins; then apply the manifold and tighten the respective fastening nuts using a torque wrench.
