Replacement of the Cylinder Head Gasket

The cylinder head gasket is located between the engine block and the cylinder head cover and serves to isolate the cylinders from the cooling passages around them. In your car's maintenance manual, you can find a list of the necessary tools to carry out the operation yourself. If the engine block has no cracks, proceed to flatten the cylinder head. Clean the surfaces of the cylinder head and engine block; otherwise, the gasket may not function properly, including the bolt seats that secure the cylinder head cover to the engine block. Once the bolts are fitted with a ratchet spanner, you can proceed to reassemble the previously removed parts.
