Engine Oil and Filter Replacement

Model: Hyundai Santa Fe MK 1 - Years 2000-2006

Position the vehicle on suitable ramps to lift it slightly and facilitate access to the oil sump; unscrew the engine oil filler cap to allow air to enter and assist in draining through the drain plug located at the rear of the oil sump; then unscrew the plug to drain the used oil and in the meantime proceed with replacing the filter located just in front of the sump, there is a specific access passage to reach it with a socket wrench; apply clean oil to the seal of the new filter and screw it on without exceeding the torque specification, screw the plug back under the sump and fill the engine with new oil until reaching the maximum level.
