The alternator is one of the most important parts of a vehicle's electrical system. It must always be fully functional, as its malfunction could create serious problems with the battery. At the first symptoms of malfunctioning it should be replaced and with a good dose of manual skill it is easy to do so. We park the car on a level and safe place, turn off the engine and proceed by disconnecting the battery cable corresponding to the negative pole. The key that locks it to the motor body must then be removed. We unscrew all the screws that secure the alternator, and rotate the coil by loosening the belt tensioner bolt just enough to be able to remove the alternator.
