Replacing the Rear Wheel Hub Bearing

Model: Hyundai Elantra XD, MK 3 - Years 2000-2006

The rear wheel hub bearing is sold complete with the hub itself, so the replacement essentially involves disassembling the hub. Lift the vehicle on a ramp and remove the rear wheel. Disconnect the suspension wishbone and remove the brake caliper along with its support. Then, unscrew the fixing bolt of the brake disc to the hub and remove the cap to access the adjuster for the shoes to loosen it and remove the disc. At this point, unscrew the four nuts securing the hub flange to remove it and proceed in reverse for the installation of the new one.
