Replacing the Timing Chain on an Iveco 3.0 TDI

The video shows the replacement of the timing chain on a 3.0 turbodiesel Iveco Daily engine, with over 400,000 miles. The vehicle is completely disassembled (no cab, radiators, or front end) due to overhaul work, making it the ideal time to address the chain. Procedure: remove the front end (bumper and headlight), the radiator with the fans (10 mm screws), the rocker cover with the breather filter (possibly to be replaced), the pulley and the belt. Lock the crankshaft with the appropriate pin and insert the two locking pins into the camshafts (upper holes). Note: do not remove the tensioners before locking everything. Undo the central nut of 36 mm to rotate the engine to the references. Remove the tensioners (one ratchet at the top, one spring at the bottom), the guides, and the two chains (upper and lower). Also replace the oil pump (4 bolts, new gasket), the two worn camshaft sprockets, the tensioners, the guides, and the crankshaft oil seal. The chain kit includes chains, guides, tensioners, and sprockets, and can be found on eBay with code 116601612478 for £346.10, with free delivery. Reassemble everything in reverse order: lower chain first, then upper, spring tensioner at the bottom and ratchet at the top, tightening the tensioner last to take up the slack. Manually rotate the engine to ensure everything turns freely before starting.
