How to Change Engine Oil and Filter

Model: Jeep Wrangler MK 3, JK - Years 2007-2018

This guide explains how to change the engine oil of a Jeep Wrangler V6 and replace the oil filter. Use a ratchet to unscrew the oil pan plug located under the vehicle. The old oil will drain out; once fully drained, refit the plug after cleaning it. Go to the engine bay and remove the plastic engine cover. Locate the oil filter and unscrew the bolt securing the cap with a hex socket. Remove the old filter and compare it with the new one. Fit the new filter onto the cap, ensuring to replace the rubber gasket on the cap (included with the new filter). Refit the assembled piece as before. Remove the upper plug of the oil pan and insert a funnel to pour in new oil. Use the dipstick to check the level. Finally, close the oil pan plug and refit the plastic cover protecting the engine.
