How to Replace the Handbrake Shoes on a Jeep Wrangler

In this video, see how to disassemble a brake disc with all its components on a Jeep Wrangler. Position your car on a column lift, loosen the bolts with a socket spanner, and lift it to a comfortable height for work. Unscrew the bolts and remove the wheel, then start unscrewing the bolts of the brake caliper (using a socket spanner) to detach it from its mount. Using a socket spanner, relieve the pressure of the brake fluid from the caliper. Now remove the caliper mount and unscrew the bolts on the brake disc, pulling the disc towards you to slide it off the hub. Prepare to remove the handbrake shoes from the wheel hub as shown in the video. Clean all dirt and debris from the disassembled parts with brushes. Before reassembly, lubricate the parts as shown in the video. Apply grease to the bolts and prepare all parts for assembly. Install the handbrake shoes and the brake disc with all associated bolts, tighten the caliper mount to the disc and the pads, then install the brake caliper, ensuring all bolts are tightened properly. Before mounting the wheel, bleed the brake caliper and tighten the bolt. Now place the wheel onto the hub and screw in all the bolts, lower the car to the ground, refill the previously drained brake fluid, and always check the brake pedal pressure.
