Replacing Glow Plugs on the Lancia Ypsilon 1.3 Multijet

To replace a broken or malfunctioning glow plug, you need to use a specific extractor kit. If the glow plug is broken with the electrode protruding from the seat, insert the electrode reaming cylinder and proceed with reaming. Further tap the electrode and continue with the reaming. Then, use a pair of pliers to extract the electrode. Next, ream the internal thread of the glow plug, then cut the thread into the body of the glow plug. Vacuum any debris from the work area and proceed to screw in the extraction bolt. Fit the support cylinder and the traction nut. Then extract the glow plug, cleaning the housing with the appropriate brush. Use the remaining part of the glow plug as a plug and restore the thread of the glow plug housing. Remove the plug from the seat again and clean the area. Finally, fit the new glow plug.
