It is recommended to perform this maintenance every 12,000 miles or at least once a year. To carry out this operation, remove the oil pan protection plate by taking out the fastening screws around the perimeter. At this point, both the oil pan and the filter, located at the front of the engine near the oil cooler, are easily accessible. To unscrew the filter, it is advisable to use a strap wrench.
