Replacing the brake pads on a Discovery? Let's look at replacing the left front brake pads. Lift the vehicle on a column lift to the desired height, then remove the wheel with a socket wrench. Unscrew the caliper locking pin and remove the caliper from the caliper bracket. Once the brake disc is free from its caliper, detach the worn pads. Replace them with new parts (always use original and compliant parts). Install the new pads in the brake caliper and then reattach the caliper to the disc.
