Change the diesel filter on a Land Rover? Remove the diesel filter on Freelander 2. Lift the front bonnet of the car and locate the diesel filter inside the engine bay. Unscrew the bolt that secures the filter to the metal housing (you can also use a socket wrench). Once the filter is removed, take it out of the vehicle (replace it with a new filter). Finally, mount the filter onto the attached diesel filter container (connect the hoses and cables) and tighten the securing bolts. Close the front bonnet once the filter replacement is complete.
