Replacing the Timing Belt on a Land Rover Freelander 2 SD2

Replacing the timing belt on a vehicle is not an easy task. Here, we will provide general guidance for the replacement, assisted by a video. First, remove the upper engine cover. On the left side of the engine, you can identify the upper timing belt protection cover, which you should remove after taking off the engine support and disconnecting the various pipes above it. Next, remove the front right wheel and hub to access the crankshaft pulley by removing the inner wheel arch cover. Remove the auxiliary belt to access the lower timing belt protection cover. Position the two pins in the designated slots on the crankshaft pulley and the camshaft pulley to ensure the engine timing is maintained. Finally, loosen the tensioner and remove the belt.
