Operation: How to replace the door lock of the Land Rover Freelander.

Below we will show you the main steps that will allow us to disassemble and replace the lock on the front door or central locking of the Land Rover Freelander. First, we open the front door and begin to disassemble and remove the door panel, unscrewing all the fixing screws; then we disconnect the electrical connector of the window switch panel. At this point, we unscrew the fixing screws of the lock, disconnecting the metal cable to remove it; we then install the new door lock, applying the reverse procedure for reassembly!

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat.
