How to change the door lock on a Land Rover Freelander 2? Remove the door panel of the Freelander 2 to access the door lock. Disconnect the battery terminals located in the engine bay, and using a screwdriver, unscrew the screws in the upper opening lever space and the screws on the handle. Remove the trim plastic near the lever, unscrew the remaining screws on the door panel, and detach the retaining clips. Pull off the panel by hand and disconnect it from the door (disconnect the power wiring and the opening cable). Locate the fixing screws of the lock and unscrew them. Remove the lock from inside the car door.
