Replacing front shock absorbers

Model: Land Rover Freelander Freelander 1 - Years 1997-2006

If you need to replace the front shock absorbers, you must first obtain the appropriate clamps needed to compress the spring; at this point, lift the vehicle on the lift, remove the front wheel, disconnect the steering rack end from the shock absorber and the drop link; then detach the grommets of the speed sensor and the brake wear sensor to be able to unscrew the bolts securing the shock absorber to the hub support; lower the vehicle to access the engine bay, move the coolant reservoir and unscrew the nuts securing the shock absorber support to the body strut to completely extract it; then apply the clamps to the spring to compress it enough and remove the support from the shaft of the old shock absorber and fit it to the new one, proceeding in reverse for the installation back onto the vehicle.
