Lexus IS - Video tutorial

Model: Lexus IS MK 1 - Years 1998-2005
Part: Timing belt
Operation: Timing belt replacement

The replacement of the timing belt requires a certain knowledge of mechanics, since it is essential to keep the timing references during the disassembly and reassembly operations. In the case of the car in question, the toothed belt also drives the water pump, so it should also be replaced. Therefore, start by draining the coolant, removing the belt covers, the radiator unit, the auxiliary belt and the crankshaft pulley. Then align the references of the phase and proceed with the disassembly of the tensioner and the water pump; install the new one with the relative gaskets and also replace the tensioner, the return bearing and the thermostatic valve; apply the new belt and reinstall what was previously removed, also replacing the auxiliary belt.

How do you adjust the clutch cable on the Kia Picanto?

To be able to adjust the clutch cable of the Kia Picanto you need to open the hood so that you have access to the components inside the engine compartment: in order to reach the cable you will need to remove some components on the right side, such as the battery and the air filter. Below them you will find the clutch cable, which will have to be adjusted by screwing or loosening the bolt placed at the end of the cable. This will make the pedal harder or softer; after the adjustment, it will be possible to assemble all the components by closing the hood.
