How to Change the Engine Oil on the Maruti Swift

Model: Suzuki Maruti Swift Rs413, Rs415, Rs413d - Years 2005-2021

Position the car on a flat surface, engage the handbrake for safety (electric parking brake, manual located on the centre console), unlock the front bonnet and lift it (lever under the dashboard). Unscrew the oil filler cap located on the left side in the engine bay. Lift the car with a jack (a column lift is even better). Place a container under the oil sump. Unscrew the drain plug with a spanner (ensure the drain plug is at the end). Allow the used oil to drain into the container. Locate the oil filter (near the oil sump), and unscrew the cartridge filter using a strap wrench, chain wrench, or socket (use penetrating fluid to lubricate and clean off any residue). Fit a new filter into its housing. Apply oil to the surface of the filter for better sealing. Screw the oil filter back onto the engine block. Top up the engine with new oil (as recommended by the manufacturer). Close the filler cap.
