Mazda 5 - Video tutorial

Model: Mazda 5 MK 1 - Years 2005-2015
Part: Car stereo
Operation: Dashboard and central tunnel removal on Mazda 5

Using a plastic wedge (not iron!) Or a small flat screwdriver, lift the plastic near the handbrake and remove it, remembering to disconnect the connector. In the same way, remove the plastic underneath the automatic transmission, the one with the cigarette lighter. Unscrew the two 8 screws you have just discovered. Unscrew the gear knob by hand and remove the plate. Unscrew the two screws that fix the rear side plastic of the central tunnel, as shown in the video. Always with the lever, remove the front side plastics, the ones on the sides of the radio area. At this point you will have discovered 4 other screws (2 on each side) that you will unscrew. Lift, still with the lever, the plate inherent to the air vents and unscrew the screws under them.

Handbrake adjustment on Ford Ecosport

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base.
